What are screenings?
Screenings are a mixture of mill or elevator run, or a combination of varying
materials obtained in the process of cleaning grain, seeds, or both.
- The mixture typically contains light or broken grain or seed, noxious
weed seeds, hulls, chaff, joints, straw, elevator dust, floor sweepings,
sand and dirt.
- WSDA has the authority to adopt rules that designate which noxious weed
seeds shall be controlled in screenings, and the amount of these seeds to be
permitted in screenings.
