How would I identify it?

General Description

This annual herbaceous plant can grow up to 1 foot tall

Flower Description

Tube shaped flower that trumpets out into 5 lobes, which are white to pink or purple. The top two lobes curve forward, while the bottom three lobes curve down and to the sides. A quarter to a third of an inch long.

Leaf description

Leaves grow alternately up the stems, are lance shaped, and frequently less than one inch long.

Stem description

The highly branching stems are covered in fine hairs, which have bulbous glands on the end of each hair.

Small, egg-shaped, and deeply ridged length-wise

Where does it grow?

Open, sunny, disturbed areas. Can be common in agricultural fields.

Shallowly rooted, it is easy to hand pull the entire plant out.
